Friday Night Drinks!

Every Friday night our friends, fans and other assorted ruffians converge on our studio to celebrate the end of the working week (well it is if you’re NOT a wedding photographer) with a couple of cold beers. The music gets turned up, the feet get put up and the pizza gets ordered. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, drop in and share a beverage with us!

Our snap shot from tonight is proudly brought to you by Lance™.

He’s so hot right now.

I also just remembered that I have another photo to add to the mix. Lance is a bit of a rock star in his spare time, and I got this shot of him rocking out a while back. A little bird told me that Lance has been in the studio recording an album. I’ll post a review just as soon as he gives me a free copy.

Rock on.

Aaron & Courtney

I shot Aaron and Courtney’s wedding yesterday at the beautiful Home Hill Winery in Ranelagh. It was awesome to spend the day with this couple and their closest friends and family and most importantly (for me) we got some great photos. It was an intimate outdoor ceremony and the sun magically broke through the clouds just as Aaron and Courtney were pronounced husband and wife - right on cue! I stayed on for some of the reception so I was lucky enough to catch the speeches. Aaron’s speech was quite moving and I even welled up at one point … I guess it’s a professional hazard in this line of work!

Aaron and Courtney are headed overseas for a few weeks on honeymoon, lucky for some, so I hope they have some internet access along the way to get a sneak peek of the shots we captured. Enjoy!

Richard & Emma

I had the pleasure of sharing Richard and Emma’s wedding this weekend, and what a sensational day it was! The sun was shining, the girls were beautiful, the church was packed - these guys are obviously well loved by many. The ceremony took place at St Aidan’s in Lindisfarne, we then traversed across to Orana House for some photos before finishing off at the Lindisfarne Rowing Club where Richard, Emma, friends and family celebrated in fine style!

These guys were so cute, they couldn’t stop smiling at each other throughout the ceremony - I even managed to catch a few sneaky tears. We wish Richard and Emma all the best in their married lives together and hope they have a great honeymoon! See you when you get back, guys!

Kingsholme!

We spent a night up at Kingsholme so I took the opportunity to take some shots in one of the massive old Oast Houses. Oast Houses are farm buildings used for drying hops in preparation for the brewing process. They consist of three or four storeys on which the hops were spread out to be dried by hot air from a wood or charcoal-fired kiln at the bottom. The drying floors were thin and perforated to permit the heat to pass through and it escaped through a cowl in the roof which turned with the wind. The freshly picked hops from the fields were raked in to dry and then raked out to cool before being bagged up and sent to the brewery.

The light was amazing inside the huge empty rooms, and I really enjoyed wandering around in the shadows trying to find interesting shots. Here’s a few I particularly liked:

Wes!

Whilst we were relaxing in the sun after a swim in the dam at Kingsholme, I managed to fire off a few shots of young Wesley King who proved a very willing and able model. Here’s a couple of my favorites:

What do you want?

So I typically post up snapshots from my wedding assignments and other random posts here and there, but I’m wondering what you guys actually want to see? There is always something else I could post, but I often wonder if anyone would find it interesting, other than me. I saw a Poll Daddy poll on another blog and it got me thinking… So here it is, your chance to tell me what you want to see.

I want this place to be as interesting as possible, so have a voice!

Once I’ve got a better idea of what the punters want to see, I’ll start hitting this place with more and more entires to suit!
